Pastor Kevin and Gwendolyn James
Pastor James was born on July 13, 1958 in San Francisco, California. He attended Silver Creek High School and San Jose City College in San Jose, California. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Christian Leadership and Theology at San Jose Christian College in San Jose, California. He then continued his education, and he received a Masters Degree of Divinity at Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary. Currently Pastor James is working towards his Doctorate of Ministry at Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary.
In 1996 Pastor James began his ministry at Fremont Bible Fellowship in Fremont, California, under the direction of Pastor Horacio Jones. He was involved in serving as the Superintendent of the Sunday School Department, Prayer Leader of God’s Power Builders Men’s Ministry, Director of L.I.F.E. (Lay Institute For Equipping), Moderator of the Family Ministry Council, as a Deacon, and on staff as the Missions Pastor. In addition, he has taught several seminar classes in the areas of Sunday School Growth, Leadership Development, Counseling, Evangelism, and Divorce and Separation.
The focus of Pastor James’s ministry is to equip, and encourage the people of God through the preaching and teaching of the living Word of God; in order that the mandate of Matthew 28:18-20 will be fulfilled, and God will be glorified in the lives of His people.
Also, Pastor James served as the Vice-President and Acting Executive Director for the Tri-Cities Community Development Center which focuses on assisting individuals who are in transition from shelters, prison, abusive situations, and battered environments with the resources, education and life management skills necessary to become productive, contributing members of the community. In addition, Pastor James served on the Executive Board of the East Bay Baptist Association. and currently serves on the Nominating Committee of the Delta Valley Southern Baptist Association.
Pastor James is married to his lovely wife Gwendolyn and is the father of two sons, Jontae and Drake.
